These Bushings, when used with the FC34 Flex Couplings, are extremely adaptable and give you an enormous flexibility when transitioning from one size or style of pipe to another. Even CPVC sies, such as required on some high efficiency furnace secondary heat exchangers are compatible to these fittings. You can even adapt to older style coils that are stubbed out with 1 1/8″ OD or 7/8″ OD copper drain outlets with ease. These fittings allow you to leave the torch and the glue in the truck.
This Cap is extremely useful for sealing the condensate system. If you need to stop the air flow or drain water but still allow easy access for adding chemicals or treatment or service, this is the best product to use. This product provides the easy way to pressure test or leak test a system. Use this cap to seal off one side of the line and prevent spills if you need to service.
This is an example of the primary use of the FC34. When servicing a 3/4″ PVC condensate drain that has become blocked, cut the line and, after service, install the FC34. Since there is a “no stop” coupling, you can slide it entirely on the pipe. Then realign the pipe and position the FC34 and tighten the clamps. This saves time over the PVC glue fitting and allows easy access to service again. It also clearly shows this to be an identifiable access to those who may come after.
As you know, one of the most troublesome place for blockage in the condensate drain system are the P traps. When P traps are mandated on heat pumps or roof top, or other pull through equipment styles, it is an excellent choice to use the flex couplings on the new installation. Certainly it is always a good idea to reinstall a trap after servicing by using the “FC34”.
